About this role and why it's critical

We're looking for marketing/growth employee #1 to lead user acquisition at Memberstack. Someone with a track record of successfully generating awareness for developer tools.

Right now, we have ~2,000 customers paying for Memberstack. Our goal is to reach 7,000 paying side projects, SMBs, and startups by the beginning of 2024. We intend to scale with our customers as part of their team and stack over the next few years.

We're looking for someone to help us establish two sustainable growth channels. We have 2.5 years to attract an additional 5k customers, which means we can afford to stick with a niche or do some things that don't scale.

What to expect

🎯 KPI's → We want you to own a KPI related to customer acquisition (we can decide this together, but probably something to do with site traffic or new trial sign-ups). That said, our company goal is 7k customers by 2023, so anything that drives us closer is a win.

🏁 Day one → Let's talk to some customers, demo the product, and click around our various websites. Our first goal is to get you familiar with Memberstack as it is today.

👋 Week one → Continue the tour and begin to document what's working, what's not, and what we might be able to do about it. We'll want to start cleaning up Memberstack's data, analytics, KPIs, metrics, etc.

🌱 Month one → Take the lead on the marketing/growth roadmap. Once you feel comfortable with Memberstack in its current state and our high-level goals for the future, we can create a plan to bridge the gap. We'll try to keep planning to a minimum and focus on execution as much as possible. You'll work alongside the team to implement the most high-impact action items first. (We think some manual outreach could be a great place to start? This will provide quick feedback as we nail down our customer persona and positioning).
